can i root a droid x with 2.2?

I'm running 2.2 on my X. will easyroot work for this. the easyroot compatibility app says i am supported but there seems to be a bit of contradiction on some other forums, and the website says that the app wprks for 2.2 but the only reference to the X says that froyo hasnt been released for it yet.

havent seen a way to root 2.2 yet. you can try it but by all means its your decision
