Recently switched from BB to my Droid 3. Love the phone, love it's feature (minus the battery life), but it has been really buggy. Shutting off on it's own, screen going black but remaining on, among a few small other things. I went to the Verizon store where I purchased it and the guy told me a factory reset would fix the problems. It seemed like a bunch of sh*t to me soI have not done it yet. I was wondering if there is any merit to a factory reset. I feel like a reset will do next to nothing but being a first time Droid owner I figured I would come here and ask first.

Thank you in advance guys =).

I would try the reset and if it doesn't work go back to vzw.

Mine used to reboot now and again, and then hasn't in a few weeks. I just rooted and froze a few VZW apps that were safe only and I just got black screen, or shut off on its own. freaked me out, I had to pull the battery to get it to boot back up....

What happens if you do a factory reset when rooted?
