Bionic Volume controls after ICS

At the risk of sounding stupid, Before ICS I could control all of my ringtones by the external volume on the side of the phone. Now it doesn't do that, I have to go to settings to adjust the volumes individually. There has got to be a way around this. Help

ICS has de-coupled the notification and ringer volumes. there are apps out there to get you to those settings a little easier (check out volume control +, i just found it yesterday), but i don't think you can tie them back together (at least on the stock rom)
