better keyboard icon

I just installed Better Keyboard and now I get a text message Icon in the notification bar when evern I get a text and even after I look at the text and respond to it...it will not disappear. I have the stock message notification turned off. and I use Handcent with icon turned on....so now I get both the Handcent AND the Better keyboard icon. Anyone know where to go to disable? I cant locate anything
