Although, I do not facebook, Ive seen many posts regarding Facebook apps and people were looking for one. Bloo 1.4.3 has to be the best Facebook app hands down. I logged in using my brothers name, and I was able to doall the functions that I would be able to do on the PC and it's pretty quick. check it out if your looking for an alternative.

Yea Bloo is my hold over as well. The good thing about Bloo compared to all the other Market FB apps is that Bloo does everything on the app as oppose to redirecting you to TOUCH or M FB. It needs an auto start though so notifications come in as you reboot your droids.

Babbler is also exceptional. I paid for both apps and felt that Babbler was more functional than Bloo, but this is going back about 3 months. Maybe the latest Bloo updates has pushed it to the top - I'll have to check it out again. Either way, Babbler and Bloo are light years ahead of any other android fb apps.

As good as the browser is, noting beats an app that has native access. It looks better, it's more intuitive, and it's quicker, at least IMHO.

The browser IS pretty good, but because the screen is small, it's annoying to have to zoom in, then scroll all over the page find what you want. A lot of these apps simplify the GUI so you don't have to zoom and scroll, and filter the most important links onto one page. Problem with several of them is they either leave too much functionality out, or links from messages etc. don't work correctly.

Think of it as using the mobile version of a web page. It's usually faster to use them because they offer shortcuts and load faster. Also, several web pages make it difficult to select what you want with your thumb on a touch screen due to adjacent links. GUI replacement apps make the GUI specifically for phone use.

Is there a way to make Bloo the default FB application? For example, can I get Bloo to open when I want to view a friend's profile who is in my contacts?

If you have notifications sent to your gmail then that could be a workaround. I used to but turned off gmail notification on my Droid because I get a lot of spam(that I read) and I felt like a walking vibrator.

When someone does come out with a FB app that is comparable to the one from last years blackberry please post so I can snag it.
