Hello everyone

I just got my Droid X today and i was planning on using a app to do most of my text messaging with.

I was just wondering before i start downloading a bunch of random apps if anyone has any recommendations for which would be the best.

Thanks

Besides the built-in app, most people use either Handcent or ChompSMS. Which is best is user preference. Try both.

im not sure if thats a typo becuase its in the post and the title of the post (not trying to be a d*ck) but if you meant text, hancent sms is the best one i have come across. If you meant to say test message i have no idea.

*facepalm*

Yeah that is a typo in the title QQ

Tyvm for the reply's

i will try the ones you guys have suggested

anymore information is appreciated tho

Theres not much other than handcent and chomp. I like handcent becuase you can change the led color for your text notification, not sure if you can do that with chomp

texting using ur plan is handcent hands down.

there are also apps that use data instead of a plan. i use google voice. but hey u can have both too :)

Hmmm

Well i guess the real question i have is:

I only have 250 messages per month and i want to use a texting app to do most of my testing with so that i dont use up my limited amount of texts.

Handcent and chomp will both use the texts from your plan. If you're looking for free texting I would suggest google voice.

Thank you for all the replies

I did some research and google voice seems like its exactly what im looking for.

All you have to do is go into the notification settings and turn them off. Then turn the other messaging notifications on. Double notifications is the problem your having, yeah?
