Battery Poll - Your area & battery life

After reading several threads on the issue I'm curious as to if the battery problem is only in 4G areas. So, here is a poll.

Bump, interested in a large array. This should help us see if it's only in a 4G area that battery life is suffering.

Bump. In a 4g area and getting terrible life. This is my third droid (had droid 1 from release, droid x from release, and tbolt from release. All rooted and optimized with custom roms/tweaks. VERY familiar with droid phones).

3g only, south-central Minnesota. Connected to WiFi roughly 75% of the time (only on 3g while driving and out of the house, have WiFi at work and home) 10-14 hours under medium-heavy use. Gets through the day, guaranteed. VERY little drain on standby.

questioning your standards...

i'm in a 3g area and my battery lasts around 8 hours with what i would consider "normal use"... i think that sucks. i'm coming from a DX which i could use the same amount and go 15 hours and still have 40-50% battery at the end of the day. i've had the t-bolt for three days and have had to charge it once each afternoon after a full charge in the morning.

so i guess what i'm saying is: your poll doesn't have an option for me. i'm in a 3g area and my battery life sucks (i can get 8 hours with normal use).

Left the house about 10am this morning headed to the casino. Phone was in my pocket the entire time i was playing. I took a peak here and there during the 6 hours i was there. Battery was near dead by 4pm. For the most part i had 4G the entire time and sometimes it would drop to 1G in my pocket.

Bottom line is the battery life on these phones is disgusting. I love everything else about this phone, but the battery is almost a deal breaker. Charge phone to 100% before bed. 8 hours of no use at all while sleeping with 4G at all times and i'm at about 30%. My DroidX with extended battery would be sitting at 90% no problem.

Well , I don't get my TB until tomorrow but I do live in a 4g area ( Denver,Colo). I will let everyone know what my battery life is...

In a 4G area and poor battery life. Less than half of what I got with a D1 or DX.

In a 4G area...but alas I got a phone that won't connect to 3G or 4G. Getting a new one Tuesday...but for now I'm getting 15+ hours with moderate usage.

I was in a 4g area for the first 2 days, and was in a 3g area over the weekend and battery life seems about the same for me. It's not as bad as I was expecting. I'll be able to get through the day with light-medium use.

FWIW I'm running off 3G and I'm at 12+ hours now running at about 30%. I'm about to go to bed, so it's about to get plugged in anyway. Got it on launch day, and every day I've gotten a full day out of it. I'd consider my usage moderate.

Is it possible it's actual 4G usage, rather than just the location, that's sucking the battery for some?

Looks like the majority have acceptable battery life. It's just the minority of us who are having issues. Hmmmm.

Most who seem to report numbers nowhere near what we are getting have 4G turned off. Even so, I'm still not impressed with many of the claims of usage times. I'm going to do some further testing of the phone later but 45 minutes ago I took the phone off the charger. Just glanced at email. Yes I have K9 running to check email. Battery is down from 100% to 87% in that short period of time. A good amount not quite right with this phone yet and little we can do about this issue.
