Who would have thought 2 years ago that Google known mainly for search, ads and a handful of neat-o apps having the premier mobile device operating system. It all began about five years ago when google acquired Andy Rubin's new startup developing smart phone software. A few years later the first Android phone entered the smart phone arena dominated by Research in Motion, Apple, Microsoft and Palm. Fast forward to the present and Android phones are activating at a ridiculous rate of over 200,000 per day.
