Anything For Lock Screen Text?

Hello,

I just rooted my phone today (mostly for tethering) and was wondering if there was anything I could to to change the text on the slider from Verizon Wireless to something different.

Are there any applications that would allow me to accomplish this task?

Metamorph or ninjamorph might be able to do this. You can replace your lockscreen completely with something like widgetlocker or simply lockscreen.

Contact owner should allow you to add text to the lock screen. I use it as a "if found" message but I can't replace the Verizon text at the top of the lock screen

Maybe I wasn't using "Contact Owner" correctly but it did nothing on my phone. It installed and let me define the contact but when I locked my phone, nothing showed up on the screen.

Anyone still out there with other suggestions?

Since you are rooted, any number of ROMs will allow you to do this. Project Elite, Simply Stunning to name two. I highly recommend Simply Stunning for GingerBread, PE for Froyo.

Okay, but how hard is it to theme/rom? It's probably not as easy as with an iPhone, where you just download WinterBoard, and toggle themes as you wish.

I use the liberty toolbox with my droid2. Even if ur not using the liberty rom it might work.

It is extreemly simple. You go into the menu, then the builder's options and add whatever text you want. I use my name.

I am getting a little lost in here. Where do you find "Builder's Options"? Are we talking about Liberty Toolbox? (I don't have a Droid X/2)
