My Motorola Droid is flashed to Metro Pcs. Everything was working perfectly until I updated to Froyo 2.2.... Now the only thing that isn't working is metro web >.<. But the phone is amazing for 40$ a Month. :)

Yes I spoke to the guy who flashed my phone....he simply stated that web doesent work on Froyo and he said that he'd downgrade it for me and get the web working again..... However, I like the froyo update that I applied, and considering that metroweb is ever so sluggish, I can live without it. For now, I'm fine with Wifi and MMS :)

Oh! and congrats with doing it all yourself!

Hey guys, new to this site. I had my 2.1 stock droid phone flashed to metro pcs to take advantage of the lower flat price with unlimited talk and text and unlimited international calling. Kind of glad i'm out of Verizon with their b.s. hidden fees and extra taxes.

Just recently got into the whole rooting thing after I got time off from work.

Anyone figure out a fix yet on the metroweb problem on the Froyo 2.2 update?

Metroweb is slow but something I still want for those emergency moments. I mostly check out the browser when wifi is available at office or at home.

Does GPS and MMS still work with Froyo 2.2? And how much more of an improvement is Froyo 2.2 from Eclair 2.1? Is the battery life much better with 2.2?

sorry for the late reply!

Everything works for me on froyo 2.2 except for metro web

However, I read somewhere that when you upgrade to 2.2, it erases some settings but you can restore metro web if you re-setup the original settings....

My battery life has improved since I upgraded to froyo!

Thanks for the info.

I love the service of Metro so much, that I decided to buy another flashed metro pcs droid phone for a relative. So I go to the store and try to activate it, and to my surprise, the tech people at MetroPcs say it's incompatible in Philadelphia area. I'm like, "Well my Droid phone works just fine here." To which the dimwit just shrugged off and reiterated that they can't do that here because of new network mumbo jumbo. Total B.S.! So now I'm just having the phone sent to a tech guy in Florida where my other droid was bought and programmed to my telephone #.

Now I have to fork over an extra $75 and ship it to florida just to have the other droid phone activated to my relative's number.

Geez, MetroPcs techs need further training, because they are certainly very incompetent in the Philly area.

It's like they're speaking half english and other half jibberish at the same time.

I don't want to argue, but this crosses the line into "stealing" as far as I'm concerned. Maybe not.

I don't want to argue, but this crosses the line into "stealing" as far as I'm concerned.

What exactly am I stealing? I paid for the phones full price, it's my property and can do whatever I want with it. I'm paying for a service other than Verizon. The important word there is, "Paying." How is it stealing when I am Paying for a service? Let me remind you again that I paid full price for the phone. It's mine because I exchanged monetary currency for an electronic product I'm free to use any way I want.

Please remember, Verizon does not own or make the phones. The Droid is out in several different carriers in different countries. Once Motorola sells to the outside market, the phones belong to the consumers who purchase them.

Where's the backbone of your argument? If by "stealing" you mean modifying the phone that I paid full price for and changing carrier services, then you are as guilty as I am or else you wouldn't be in these forums rooting your phone or customizing it without the approval of your Lord and Master, Verizon or whatever carrier your phone is under. YOU, downloading torrents without paying for albums and movies---Now That's Stealing!

Oh, BTW, I have a 2 Blackberry phones for my business and Verizon FiOs for my house. I pay my bills! And whatever extra dollar I save is good for my wallet. So if you are going to try to argue about me being a miser and consider that to be stealing, well I have you beat again.

You, sir, are probably a leftist socialist or still living with mommy and daddy oblivious to the current economic climate we are living under. "Every penny counts" is the phrase you'll soon learn in the real world.

You want to know what's stealing? Your leftist leader, Barry Obama spending willy-nilly as if money grew on trees, leaving you and your future descendants to pay the bill! Why don't you just switch to the iPhone, I'm sure you'll fit in well with those tree-hugging hipsters in the Apple forums.

Good Night! I can't stay and argue with you, I have to sleep because I have work tomorrow so I can pay my bills so I can have a happy and Financially Secured life. You, calling me a thief for switching to a cheaper carrier is laughable, that's like me calling you out for stealing because your daddy pays for all your bills. It's called saving money, and the more I save, the more well off I become. Do you get how Life works now? Jerk!

I appreciate your response. I added the "Maybe not." to my post after I thought about it a bit more. Maybe I should edit it again to say never mind.

I'm going to respond to your post anyway. I said I didn't want to argue so I'm hoping you take this the right way.

What exactly am I stealing?

Nothing. I thought about it and realized I was probably wrong.

How is it stealing when I am Paying for a service?

It's not. You're right.

Where's the backbone of your argument

There is none that I know of! I wasn't really arguing...I was stating what I thought was opinion and I guess it was actually just factually wrong.

you are as guilty as I am or else you wouldn't be in these forums rooting your phone or customizing it without the approval of your Lord and Master, Verizon

Hey, I never said I broke Lord Master Verizon's terms of service!

YOU, downloading torrents without paying for albums and movies---Now That's Stealing!

Yes, the law says it is stealing, but morally, if you believe in the free flow of information then it isn't, right?

You, sir, are probably a leftist socialist

No, leftism and socialism are ideals that don't seem to work in practicality, in my opinion. I consider myself to be an open-minded, more or less conservative guy.

or still living with mommy and daddy

No, I've been living on my own for over a decade.

oblivious to the current economic climate we are living under. "Every penny counts" is the phrase you'll soon learn in the real world.

I have a degree in Economics from Stanford and I'm trying to scrape by doing contract work and running web sites. I should probably try this metropcs mod. I hadn't heard of it. I wonder how the coverage is in my area.

You want to know what's stealing? Your leftist leader, Barry Obama spending willy-nilly as if money grew on trees, leaving you and your future descendants to pay the bill!

He's not your leader? Do you not live in the US? Anyway, I didn't vote for him and I can't say I know much about him that's all that impressive.

Why don't you just switch to the iPhone, I'm sure you'll fit in well with those tree-hugging hipsters in the Apple forums.

I'd jailbreak the m'fer.

your daddy pays for all your bills.

He does pay for lunch almost all the time.

Do you get how Life works now? Jerk!

That's crossing the line. No, I don't know how life works and I think anyone who says they do is lying.

Yes, it is a great phone! :) That is pretty ridiculous. The guy in Philly just gave you mumbo jumbo! I'm actually selling my flashed Motorola Droid right now, and I am replacing with it a Htc Droid incredible. Once I get it though, I have to get the phone flashed. However, I am excited! :) Good luck!
