Anyone know how to tweak the free memory for bb v.03?

I would like to change the free memory to 100mb... so i went into system/etc/sysctl.conf and changed the free mem to 4096 instead of 2048. Will that do the trick?

I searched the forum for this and couldnt find anything specific, sorry if this is in another thread.
