Anyone know how to fix calendar erasing events on it own problem?

I have had my Droid X for about 2 days now. So far I like the phone but its not exactly user friendly sometimes. I have tried multiple times to set a calendar event. The event will show up on my home screen date box as a upcoming event and tell me what it is. About 30 seconds pass and the event disappears. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Yep... I have the same problem even after replacing the phone. Sigh...

Verizon tech support tells me to sync contacts with gmail. I synced them with facebook, but as long as you have the contact you are meetings email in your contact list it will stay on your calendar. The thing I don't like about it is whoever you put in as your person you are meeting it sends them an email asking them to check if they are attending or not. I downloaded notepad app and use that instead.

best guess

i have just been going through this and after having read other forums it does appear that just filling out the "what" part of the event with just the time will keep the event and sync it with google calendar. my best guess is that google calendar does not have the "who" part or other parts and when it tries to sync the two it gets confused and just erases both events. i tried motorola it and they did not seem to know much about this. i figure so many people just use the calendar on the phone and for those who dont sync the phone, my best guess is that they dont have this problem.....or those who are lazy and dont fill out any other field except what and the time....this is all my best guess. please others confirm or deny this to see if it holds true.
