Anyone Else Get a 2GB SD Card Instead of an 8GB SD Card?

I plan on going to a VZW retail store tomorrow to hopefully get this taken care of. Got my Droid 2 on Sunday and went to put some tunes on it today. Saw it was reporting that there was 1.8 GB on the SD Card. Popped the back, and sure enough it was only a 2GB one.

Curious if this has happened to anyone else - and if so, if my chances of getting it fixed is better spent in a store or on the phone.

I've read about, and unfortunately personally know of, some unscrupulous cell phone reps who have pulled and/or swapped cards hoping individuals won't notice, or presume it was something they had to pay extra for.

Go back and demand a replacement.

Nothing better then getting it delivered in a sealed box. Mine has a 16gb card, pulled from my old Droid of course. ;)

Turns out that they were quite helpful at the VZW Store, and did not even blink twice at the fact that it happened. In fact, the representative implied that this happens from time to time.

He said that usually someone will switch out a MicroSD Card for one reason or another and not pull the phone out of inventory.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

Glad to hear it worked out for you, although not at all surprised.

When you've got kids effectively stealing larger SD cards for themselves, I reckon you've pretty much gotta bite the bullet and bend over backwards to make things right.
