Hi guys, finally i got my milestone and here I am. I am quite satisfied with my moto and it is so addictive
Hope I manage to be an active participant in the forum.
Here is a quick newbie question,
If i root my beloved motorola, then by any chance will i see any increase in battery life?

yes there is a chance, you can use setcpu, to underclock your phone while it is sleeping or idle. By the way :welcome: to the site and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I can only share my own experiences. I rooted and used set CPU run at 250 and no matter what I tried my battery experience was worst. When the phone is over clocking, and I was at 850 you could feel it getting hot and sucking up the battery.

I really don't see anyway that overclocking can extend battery life. That's my experience, YMMV.

By the way I should add while there was a noticeable decrease in battery life it wasn't to the point where it cut it in half or anything like that. definitely went down faster though requiring me to recharge by 3:00 pm if I unplugged at 6:00 am.
