Anonymous SMS text issues

Hello!

I have tried "googling" everywhere for a solution to my problem and can't seem to find one I would hate to think I am the only one there with this issue... I am able to receive SMS but, every message that comes in is anonymous, therefore I can't reply or know who is texting... Any help will be greatly appreciated

are you using a 3rd party messenger?

have you added contacts to your droid, as silly as that may sound?

First I tried using the regular SMS program, then I tried Handcent and chomp. None of these solved the issue. Yes I have contacts on my phone and that is something I am a little confused about... All contact have to be added as a Google, Twitter, Corporate or FB contact? No regular just phone contact?...

To be a little more specific I would receive and SMS i.e. "Hello, how are you?" and automatically it will display "Hello" as the contacter's name and the rest as the text... Leaving me with no idea who you just texted and no number to reply to that message
