android messager force to stop

i just got this phone on friday and i love it..ive noticed the interface sometimes lags and the main problem is usually at night the messenger.android or whatever is forced to stop, meaning i cant text message. usually i just turn my phone off and then back on and its fixed but my background is then reset too.. anyone know what the problem is ?

every time this happens i usually turn off my phone and turn it back on. when i turn it on all my messages are erased and it seems like my interface is back to default
