If its rolling out on nexus then we can't be to far behind.......right? They wouldn't leave all of us loyal OTA updater's behind. Thats why I don't read any of the hype anymore. Once again we will have our update in a rom before they ever OTA it.
So in the event that the OTA does hit the droid, what do rooted users have to do to get it? If I remember correctly, something in the rooting process blocks this type of update.
Because HTC has had 2.2 source(along with motorola) before anybody. Why do you think the first 2 devices with froyo will be the droid and nexus one. And also the nexus one is Google official phone.
I would think that the Droid will get this pretty fast. They handed Droids out at Google I/O to all American attendes. I don't see them handing out a phone that wasn't going to get a 2.2 ROM soon, so developers could test apps on hardware.
Well good for those with the Nexus One. Hope this embarrasses Verizon and all the other carriers who are busy taking out all the functionality of 2.2 instead of releasing the update.

It's no secret that the N1 would get the update first. That's really good news for us because we are suppose to get it in June. Figure at the earliest the first week if we are lucky. I'm glad to hear about this.

But everyone knows the N1 foundered long ago, I can see them giving it the advantage (consider if they make another phone, more people may buy it because of reasons like this) getting the update to where they public is has to be just as important to them if not more.
Also it really makes the carriers look bad when they can't even get the update through testing while it's running and being ported from other phones that had the update long ago. (pressure's on you, Verizon, to not do exactly what you did last time).
