Android 2.2 - Froyo

So I was wondering, now that the source is out, is it possibly for someone to download and make a build for us in a couple of days using that data?? I wondering if thats the case, if we go to adobe to download the flash player if it will let us since it can detect what build of Android we are on?

Kinda weird that they didn't say when 2.2 is coming during the Android portion of the keynote...unless they are gonna do what Jobs does at the Apple keynotes..."One more thing"

I'm most excited over the fact that it will allow us to transfer our apps from internal storage memory to the SD card. Automatic updates looks cool too.

Agreed! I haven't even come close to running out of application space, but one of my biggest sore spots on my old Blackberry was that this wasn't an option and I couldn't figure out why. So happy to see Google do this.

I also really dig the Chrome to Phone thing. I've been using a QR generator plugin!

some interesting comments in that endgadget article:

try as we might, we couldn't find a single program that'd let us use the "Move to SD card" functionality.
(RE: Flash) Battery and heat are also of concern: the pre-release beta we have, according to Adobe, lacks hardware acceleration. Ergo, our beloved handset got piping hot after about 30 minutes of heavy video watching, and the battery indicator in the upper right had a sizable dent.

Well the redesigned voice dialer doesn't need visual confirmation anymore. Which could mean bluetooth voice dialing. I also noticed a redesigned music app

Since the N1 already does bluetooth voice dialing I don't know if that means anything of the sort. I hope you're right, but why is it already in the N1 and not ALL android phones?

Apps2SD official makes me happy in the pants and so does Flash and AIR support. The speed optimization, JIT, etc... All awesome. The one thing that was overlooked about Apps2SD is that you can either manually move/install OR Android will detect low space and do it automagically!

I don't think its on the N1, yet. Only on the Milestone so far, and that's third party software.

2.2, when released for the Droid should bring bluetooth voice dialing though. I was also right in thinking they would release froyo for the N1 first, so much for rumors about it being dead!

You're right it's the Milestone, not the N1. I just found out yesterday the Milestone had it.
