Im currently using 2.1 on a DX, waiting for 2.2. What program do you D2 users use to backup your phone? I still havent found a backup app that will backup application data without rooting the phone.

Thanks.

To my knowledge there isn't one without rooting the phone.

Yes, that is what I have figured out. So how are all of the droid users backing up their phones? And if not, why dont they care? Ive always backed up my Windows, Palm, BB phones, and find it strange that Android users are not too concerned about backups.

I know that a lot of the data is synced to google, but not all of it. For example I have a text editor, and a notes app, and this data would be lost if I ever lose the phone.

Isnt there a backup feature that comes with 2.2?

Thanks

No, you can use MyBackupPro on phones that are not rooted.

You can use MyBackupPro, as I have for a month, but it will only backup your apps, and not most application data (which is all I care about). A few apps will work with mybackuppro, but most wont. Luckily I found this out before I need to restore my phone. I bet that most users assume that backup programs like MybackupPro are backing up data along with their applications.

DavidTaylor is correct about this, There are no backup programs available that will backup all application data on non-rooted phones, which is why Ill probably be rooting mine soon. (Too much data to risk).

If you have found a backup program that backs up applicaton data on a non-rooted phone, please let us know.

Thanks.
