ahhh help with gb

Im trying to install gingerbread following these instructions DroidX Gingerbread 2.3.3(4.5.588) Install Patch with Root

and when i try to turn on my phone its a black screen with white words. and it says

battery ok
ok to program
connect usb
data cable

what does this mean?

Means you bricked and need to run rsd lite and sbf your phone. Should be step by step instructions in the forums. Battery drains fast in bootloader screen so get to it.

ok thanks. so after i sbf my phone, how do i install gb?

In that link choose the 340 full. You will then reroot 340 using z4root. Then download the donate liberty toolbox and in the rom manager nightly section download and install with data wipe when prompted liberty gb full v.01. After reboot you will be on 588. Then if you want the newest update with wipe again to the liberty gb v.05 making sure to use the one that includes the new kernel. That's it! :
