Active X controls in Browser?

Was trying to log into remote website and my browser indicated that Active X controls needed to be installed or enabled. Can anyone point some light on this issue?

Sayes it needs the Remote Desktop Connection Manager Control. Looks like a Microsoft issue maybe. Would the Android people know anything about this?

I don't think you can load ActiveX controls into any browser that's not running on a Windows OS. They were sort of Microsoft's attempt at matching applets in Java, while still being proprietary.

And only in Internet Explorer. Firefox at least requires plug-ins to make it run.
