A wannabe pro, but just a newbie

So I've owned my Droid 1 for a while now and am pretty good at navigating it, but want to learn more about rooting before I take the plunge. The last OTA for 2.2 bricked my phone and it was eternally stuck on the Motorola logo. I wasted hours at Verizon and they replaced it with a refurbished phone. If I could do that over again, I would've totally hit up the rescue squad. I think you guys can fix everything. dancedroid

I've only had my Moto Droid 1 for [just under] a month and I just rooted it yesterday. I was trying to wait, but I just found myself reading about it more and more and couldn't take it any longer.

I do believe you will figure it out pretty well, and if you'd like me to point you in the direction of the walkthroughs and guides that helped me best I'd be glad to.

I might take you up on that offer. Right now, I'm just reading and observing. If I break my phone, I'm in trouble and don't have the money for the retail price.
