A very easy way to lose your private information...

Well, that's something I never thought of. Makes perfect sense though.

What are you suppose to do now when you hand your Doctor your insurance card, ask them not to copy it? And I'll bet the same is true about fax machines too.

Pretty scary stuff.

My wife is phobic as it is.. now she is REALLY phobic. I wonder what a Drs office would say if you asked to clear your documents after they copied them and then prove it to you that they did.

i used to work in IT security and development for the largest insurance company in america and we had the fun task of clearing out these hard drives before we got rid of copy machines.

most companies dont know or dont care to actually do anything about it.

No such thing as privacy at all nowadays... not since the net came along.
Also disturbing is the fact that kids lose their innocence at such a young age in today's world as well...
Not to derail the thread, sorry.

What??? I had no idea these things had harddrives. WOW. This is not good. Why does a copier need a harddrive? And I appreciate the info from newsrooms...but now if identify thieves didnt already have enuff ways to steal data....I wonder did they help or hurt be making this story....
