2.2 update status for fascinate galxy s?

Does anyone have any idea when the new update is due? Im getting frustrated with samsung pushing it back. My phone freezes and desprately needs updated. Thanks for the help !!

You can root and get the leaked version of 2.2. Other than that there is no official release date.

Well I just signed with mine so ima just root it since getting a new phone. Means buying it outright.. damn Verizon and Samsung screwing me with these updates lol

For us non-rooters...I know 2.1 is not ideal and the bloatware sucks, but this phone really is nice! I does everything and I have Avatar and the first season of Archer on it and they play the full screen, completely HD looking, seemlessly (no pixelation at all) and without skipping a beat.

IF you can look past not getting 2.2, being stuck with 2.1, this phone really does rock...and beats the complete HELL outta the Blackberry I switched from!

With that said, I will never get another Samsung phone as long as I live. They've ruined it for me...

i sent a animated gif to my gf on her fascinate....she couldnt see it..forgot 2.1 lacked support for gifs..... that said..2.1 sucks even if you can play archer on it.

my bb curve 8330 could play gifs and that was 2 years ago...painful.

I Totally agree! I had a Blackberry Pearl and this phone kicks it in the butt! I just don't know why Swype capitalizes the second word in all my sentences....see above.

Screw verizon and samsungs updates you guys have the tools to go to froyo it was possibly the easiest install ever thanks to the guy on the forum long as you have a computer you can have froyo it is wonderful.

I'm running the stock froyo update with all of the Verizon bloatware. It's not really that much different. A few minor improvements, the main one being flash support. I think I'll go back to superclean

VZW has been saying ITS BEEN COMING for about4 months now I think or maybe even longer then that. Im gonna try a root tomorrow. Remember you can always take it back to stock if you need to.

Do you have the Insurance? "lose" your phone when the time comes if your worried about it.

That being said ROOT YOUR PHONE. I was a worry wart about bricking, voiding warr, etc. I finally decided to root a month ago and have not even remotely considered going back to 2.1 EVER!
SuperClean is a very stable rom and there are many beautiful themes to play with. Having all the Adobe apps working is a very nice plus and the biggest speed increase i noticed was in the contacts/phone area where i used to lag while scrolling quickly. Now my phone keeps up with everything and play any game without a hitch(this display is imo the best or damn close to it).

The current status of 2.2 for the fascinate is look for an early april release.
