I've been an Android fan from the original Android. And IMHO, the earlier Google Nexus and now Pixel line of devices are the truth. YMMV
Decided to run a speed test this morning to check out how this baby flows, and as you can see in the pic, it absolutely smokes in the wifi download. (Sorry...
Hahaaaaa, this baby works like a charm. Easy peasy transfer of all info, and setup is exactly as I had it. Operation is smooth as silk, and coming from the Pixel 2XL, the device looks exactly the same albeit with a slightly larger screen.
Pixel 4XL just arrived in the mail. Just Black, but I'm an old dude. Is it possible to setup using NFC, or do we have to use the cord. My pixel 2XL was easily setup with NFC, as all passages were set exactly as I had them on the prior device.
Yeah baby, the Pixel 2XL is here! Was at the house when I got home from work. Setup was a breeze, and I'm loving it. Yes the of axis blue hue is there, but I never view it off axis so, makes no difference to me. Used the dongle for my ear buds this morning. Worked like a charm.
I'm going to...
Looking forward to receiving my 2XL this week. It's scheduled to ship tomorrow, and arrive Tuesday or Wednesday.
Funny thing is, my Nexus 6 just received the 7.1.1 update. Must know that a change is imminent.
Had some time to look and spend in Best Buy with the Pixel 2XL. With the 18:9 screen it's slightly taller than my Nexus 6, and noticably narrower. Set at same brightness level and font size (for these vintage eyes ) I love the way it sets up.
The screen is whiter, though I noticed the off angle...
After internal debate, I ordered the Verizon version from Google. Never rooted my Nexus 6, and the 2 XL will do everything I require, and probably more, without root. As long as the updates are received at the same time, I'm good.
Never had wireless charging so, I won't miss that. However, I do enjoy plugging in my headphones, and not worrying about also keeping them charged. There will be a dongle offered to plug in to, so I'll go that way. Great thing is, being old school, I have a 160gb iPod that handles my music. ;)
