There is an active thread here that dives into this issue in depth. Check it out. We are trying to get the G2 community to get LG's to pay attention to this software defect.

Verizon's CFO Says that "unlimited" is "just a word" and "doesn't mean anything."

Unlimited doesn't mean anything? Unlimited means $100+ savings per month for this customer.

ive finally had enough and called VZW

Every brand/model of phone has it's fair share of issues, and a cadre of people who can't wait to get away from it. Go visit the other forums if you haven't already. There's no "one" phone that works out for everyone. For the OP here, it's great that he's got what he needs - everyone deserves to...

now verizon is officially late on galaxy nexus 4.1 update

Agreed - rooting is what the GNex was made for. Root, and you'll be miles ahead of VZW, and you'll never look back.

How to improve the Nexus battery

Hey Dezy: I purchased the Trinity app and flashed the Trinity kernel. Here are some questions: - Do you use the "stable" or the experimental kernel? - There are a batch of kernel options in the app for download - I first used the faster kernel with slower GPU (1536 CPU, 307 GPU), then found my...

How to improve the Nexus battery

Hey Dezy: Since you've been through a bunch of ROMs, which one are you using now? Which would you suggest for best stability and battery life? I am using Bugless Beast now, with Franco's r241 "nightly" kernel. 100% stable, but battery life could be better.

    Franco

I reflashed to 384GPU, based on more research that I did. Still would like to hear about Franco settings that aid battery llife.

    Franco

Brand new to Franco Kernel. Just installed the app this am and Kernel #241. Looking for better batter life on JB. During the auto-flash, I selected 512GPU. Am I better off selected the lower GPU for battery savings? Interestingly, I seem to notice a slight choppiness in swyping between home...

anyone else try a jb rom, and go back to an ics because of the lack of features?

Reporting back: So far, BB is almost as good as my ICS battery life experience, and better than Vicious ROM. I think I'll stay with this ROM for a while. I miss the notification toggles in Vicious, but I don't want to have an app running all the time to provide that function. I highly...

Updated Verizon Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean binaries added to AOSP

Like you guys, I rooted, ROM'd, and I'll never look back as well. This is what the GNex is built for. JB is AWESOME!

Thanks again! I'll still consider Franco's Kernel.

    JB Bootloader and Kernel Questions...

Wow - thanks for all of that! I just got an education! Betcha this will help others as well. So maybe I'll be Franco's app. It seems to automate things a bit. One article I read from earlier this year that said the merely flashing that kernel (leaving all settings to default) improved...

    JB Bootloader and Kernel Questions...

Having less than a week's experience with rooting/ROMs (Vicious was my first ROM, Bugless Beast is my current ROM), I have a some questions, if I may... - Some of my boot times with BB are 3-4 minutes, others boots are super-fast. I know that JB Bootloader might fix this. If I flash JB...

anyone else try a jb rom, and go back to an ics because of the lack of features?

You are correct again! After a few reboots - it has a super-fast boot-up time. I am liking this BB. Want to see how good the battery is over the next few days. Thanks again SBenson!

anyone else try a jb rom, and go back to an ics because of the lack of features?

SBenson: I am going to cut/paste your posts above into a Word doc that I will keep until this all becomes automatic. THANK YOU for your help. I am in BB now, although I am not sure how to confirm that, as I don't know what to look for under Phone info. Any thoughts on that? Also, I just...

anyone else try a jb rom, and go back to an ics because of the lack of features?

How does one confirm what ROM they have installed. I'll assume BB is installed, and done correctly, but under "Phone" in settings, it doesn't indicate anything about BB. ??
