I turn wifi off when I'm out and about but it tries to connect with every random network it passes. When I have it off I want it to STAY OFF.
Is this possible?
Bonus question... what happened to silencing my ringing phone by setting it face down? Did Lollipop kill that handy feature too?
Yes on KitKat the ringer started loud and ended loud. On Lollipop, there is an ascending volume ringtone.
The good news is, there is an app on Play specifically to fix this and it works great. I used it on my S4.
The bad news is, I don,t remember what it's called...
So I was grudgingly forced to upgrade to Lollipop a couple of days ago.
On KitKat, I would put my phone on silent overnight and hear nothing but my alarm all night, just my alarm in the morning. When I silenced it, it went silent, & when I restored the volume I got calls & notifications. Simple...
I agree, overall, it is a nice phone; just don't like the low volume.

I'll give PowerAmp a try.
Actually, the problem is NOT MUCH VOLUME. I had an S4 until I traded it for a Droid Turbo and the problem is the same for both - neither one gets loud at all. Both my stepson's Droid... Something and my wife's Droid... Something, which are both older phones, blast the S4 and the Turbo out of...

Thanks again for all your help.
Any launcher suggestions at this late date in the thread?
All of a sudden I'm getting boxes with Korean (I think) under my Google search box and my results are weird. (See screenshot) I "uninstalled Google and deleted updates, still the same. I don't torrent or go to any bad websites on my phone (you know what I mean). My Google search language is set...
Verizon here. Just got the update about a half-hour ago (Pennsylvania).
I don't notice any difference right away except that I think it added a "Verizon Support and Protection" app (or I never noticed it before). It immediately needs updated. Play Store says it's "FREE" antivirus protection, in...
