The Pixel XL Is The Most Expensive Nexus Phone Ever?!

The original Nexus 6 launched at $649 for the 32GB model, $699 for the 64GB model. So at worst the Pixel XL would be tied for most expensive Nexus ever.

    Droid Turbo "free" this weekend...

So it's "free" on contract ... any idea how much for full retail? Gotta keep my grandfathered unlimited data.

FINALLY upgraded this old Bionic to KitKat

Just wondering, does anyone else running KitKat on a Bionic via CM 11 have issues with WiFi dropping? I've tried several builds and it always drops after 10 minutes or so. I can connect again by cycling airplane mode, but then it will drop again. It's not my daily driver anymore (have a Droid...

Droid Bionic Favorite Contacts Widget equivalent on Droid Maxx?

Android Pro Widgets includes a Contacts widget that functions very nicely. It also includes a monthly calendar widget that syncs to Google Calendar, and some others. Highly customizable and it's free (with optional pay version available for theme support).

    Where is that badger?

Wow, I was planning to suggest you try a factory reset next until I read your comment! That really should have fixed the issue permanently. Are you sure this "Verizon person" didn't do something else to your phone before rebooting it? Maybe try another factory reset and then keep it the heck...

    Where is that badger?

Have you tried clearing the app's cache (as markusb111 describes) and rebooting but without disabling the app? Might fix it and give you back your badge counts. Also, do you have any apps disabled?

    Stock Keyboard/Stock SMS Layout

Wow that sucks, the keyboard randomly disappearing would definitely be a dealbreaker for me as well. :icon_eek: Wonder if it has anything to do with TouchWiz? Personally I like the new resize feature in SwiftKey -- I have it set one notch below the default size which seems like the best...

    Stock Keyboard/Stock SMS Layout

What are your other problems with Swiftkey? Just curious because I use it every day and have not noticed any issues since the update. One thing you could try, to fix the menu issue on your S4, is moving the keyboard (new feature).

    Stock Keyboard/Stock SMS Layout

My reply was to Jackiscivic, whose complaint about Swiftkey was with the menu button sometimes covering up the bottom row since the last update. Refer to the screenshot in xeene's post above. The suggestion fixes it on the Maxx, which is the forum you currently find yourself posting in. ;)

    Stock Keyboard/Stock SMS Layout

Why not just use xeene's suggestion to enable long pressing the recent apps button to display the menu? Problem solved. I have my Maxx set that way it it works great, plus it eliminates that horribly ugly settings button everywhere. Go to Settings > Display and check "Use long press for menu"...

How often do you "Ok Google Now"

As I understand it, local voice processing is only performed on the low-power core that is always listening for you to say "OK Google Now" and distinguish your specific voice. After it detects your specific voice saying the launch phrase, it wakes the rest of the phone and hands things off to...

How well do you like the maxx? Considering buying one.

I have the Diztronic TPU case in matte black for my Droid Maxx and I love it. It's even better made than the previous versions (at least the Bionic version that I had). And only $10 at Amazon.

How well do you like the maxx? Considering buying one.

Android Pro Widgets has a full-size calendar widget that I really like. It even syncs to Google Calendar. The free version comes in white and a transparent dark grey, or you can buy the full version for $2.50 to get access to tons of themes. Also comes with matching Twitter, Facebook...

How often do you "Ok Google Now"

I use it a few times per week, mainly to look up random trivia or to set reminders. Also use it in place of Shazam ("Ok Google Now, what's this song?").

Clock on screen when moving MAXX

It sounds like you're not familiar with Active Notifications so here's a little background. This is one of the new features Motorola introduced with the Moto X, and the new Droid lineup. It doesn't just display the clock, but more importantly it will display any notifications you receive...

    Droid Maxx Dock

Just realized TYLT has jacked up the price to $100 on their website, so this "deal" is total crap. Please disregard.

    Bionic > maxx my opinion.

I still have my Bionic and have been flashing CM 10.2 nightlies on it once a week or so just for fun. The Bionic was a great phone, highly underrated at the time it came out. But let's get real. The Maxx is superior in every. Single. Way. The screen alone is enough to make my eyeballs hurt...

    Where is that badger?

Badger is the process that displays unread counts. Someone at XDA discovered this by disabling/enabling it. As to why it keeps stopping, I don't have that issue on my Maxx. Maybe try clearing its cache?
