I downloaded z4root in order to root my phone and I'm having a problem that's confusing me. Whenever I try to root it, doesn't matter if it's temporary or permanent, it gets to the point of getting the root shell and then just quitting the process and the application. I've tried doing numerous battery pulls and still have gotten nowhere. Are there any specific settings that need to be on or off in order to get it to work or anything like that? Thanks for the help guys.

Using v1. 3? I think that is the latest.

I had no trouble with it. No weird settings necessary. Clear z4root data and uninstall. Reinstall and try again.

Does the same thing on my Droid using z4root 1.3.0 just quits.
Droid 1 with 2.2.1 FRG83D. I've never rooted before and thought this would be the easiest way.

Z4root doesn't work on FRG83D...it was designed to block the app.

Thanks for the info. I knew there'd be a way around FRG83D.
