Make sure you hit the Menu button, then select High Quality. Once you do that, videos are crisp and very smooth, buffering was never an issue for the few videos I've watched.
i don't see an HQ option. I go into youtube and click the menu at the bottom of the phone and go into settings but there are no video options. Am I just looking in the wrong place?
ok, so another update. I was able to view other videos, and then go in and find the watch in HD, but it get's too choppy. I have all but one bar and 3g, but maybe I need to be in wifi for it to work. I still can't get any video that's labeled as HD to play though.
wow. this video made a difference. i still have to wait a bit halfway through for the stream to catch up, but it's really great looking. thanks again for all the help i've gotten on this forum!
I found this thread by searching for 'DNA YouTube fullscreen', but it would seem that the question wasn't really answered.
The Droid DNA has a beautiful five inch screen, so I too am wondering why the YouTube app plays videos with a ~ 1/2 to 3/4 inch black border around them in landscape mode, instead of actually filling the screen.
