"Sorry, this video cannot be played."

I get this error message when I'm trying to watch a video on youtube or even a video I recorded. It starts playing, then one second later it freezes.

I'm on BB 0.6 (2.1) rom with chevy kernel. Any ideas?

yea, i have the same problem... rooted with bb 1.1 only happened after i updated to 1.1 though... weird... it'll slow down and stutter, then i'll get that message.. howver, the video still plays behind that message... odd

if i pause it while it's stuttering, and then start playing again, it'll be fine until it starts stuttering again..

i use mvideo player from the market and the stock bb video player... same problem

The problem is you are overclocked too high. slow your proccess speed of your cpu down and then try to play the video again.

    Non-Rooted Video Problem

I hate to tell you guys this but I have a bone stock 2.0.1 Droid that exhibits exactly the same problem with SOME video playback. :icon_evil: This does not happen with every video and with those that do have the problem they play just fine on the old PC.

What is the common point between rooted and not relating to video?

It's weird that you say that... I RARELY play vids on my phone, but I was trying it out back when I first rooted with SholesROM, I would get the same error message when I was set at the stock 550 Mhz, but when I bumped up to 800Mhz the vids played perfectly.

This started happening every since I started using 2.1 Roms. The video will start playing perfectly and then freeze after about two seconds, but the audio keeps playing. Then the message pops up. Any way to fix this? I've already tried two different 2.1 roms with fresh nandroid installs on both.

You aren't the first person I've seen with this issue, but on my phone it works just fine. Running Bugless Beast 2.1 v.7 here.

my droid did that even when it was stock. Still does it with root. Im thinking its more in the youtube player app than the phone itself.

The better question is how much are you OC'ed? I found that if I OC mine while I am trying to watch a video it would do that.

I returned my first droid because of htis issue, do you have any videos saved in your gallery, if you do see if they work. VZW exchanged mine for a new droid after not being able to figure out why youtube wouldnt work. Youtube works fine now and im using SG 6.0 OCD to 1ghz

The reason for this is, some videos on youtube are in flash, and unable to play on our phones as of yet.

If you're OC'd I solved this problem on my Droid by switching to "ondemand" on the SetCPU settings. I would constantly receive FCs on "performance".

I've been overclocked for months with not a single issue.
He's not having force close issues.

it happens on mine too. Im running SS v2.0.3 ESE53 OC'd to 1.25 on demand. Video either doesnt play...or plays about 10 seconds then freezes and resets the phone.
even a video I recorded on the camera app cant be viewed with the gallery player. it would play about 10 seconds of audio while stuck on 1 image...then pop up...this video cannot be played....

I have the same thing going on with my Droid. Youtube and videos on my SD card freeze after so many seconds.

Were you able to remedy the issue at all? I bought mine through Amazon, so I'm looking at how to do an exchange.

I fixed the issue by going into setcpu and dropping it down to 550mhz before playing a video. Sucks, but that's all that fixed it.
