The theory in the OP is backwards. Your left controls right and vice versa. So for this theory to work, your organization needs to be to the right of your home screen, and entertainment to the left.
In my center panel, I have the widgets/icons that I use most:
Power Widget
Phone
Calendar Widget
Voice Dialer
Alarm Clock
Communications Folder consisting of Email, GV, Handcent, eBuddy, etc.
On the left panel, I have all my icons that I use regularly, but aren't essential to my day-to-day stuff:
Facebook
Dolphin Browser
Shopping folder: Where, Places Directory, Android Market
Media Folder: Camera, Gallery, Pandora, Music, etc.
Google maps
Games Folder
So on and so forth.
On my right panel, I have strictly 1-touch dialer short-cuts to the people I call the most & the Goog-411 widget
So I don't know where that puts me with the L/R brain here.
D'oh! Guess I do have it backwards. Still weird that so many people are similar.
Did the initial screen layout of the Droids lead us to lean that way? God knows I have no idea what that configuration is, since I start tweaking it right away, but maybe one of you expectant posters could let us know when you open that box up.
I've got system stuff on the right (power, usage data, cpu speed & other system apps).
In the center I've got all communications (contacts, phone, email, sms, talk, FB & browser), time, weather & calendar.
On the left are all other apps.
