I'm a new smartphone user and am having an email issue.

I have a couple of Yahoo accounts that were configured using the default email icon. I set the frequency to Automatic (push), but even though an email has been sent hours ago (and i see it when looking at my laptop) it doesn't hit my smartphone. The odd thing is at times emails will hit the smartphone immediately, while other times it can take HOURS.

Would greatly appreciate any advice on how to solve this.

It could be the app itself, try downloading a different one from the market and see how it goes

Sent from my SCH-I510 using DroidForums

Yahoo on the stock email app has a known problem with automatic (or any) push for notifications being consistent. It's not a phone issue but an issue with how VZW's email gateway functions. Imo you would have better luck with either the Yahoo app from the Market or another email application such as K-9 email. Personally, I don't like stock email or messaging apps and install alternates as soon as I get any android phone.
