Xoom Backlight Stays On 24/7

My Xoom's screen stays on all the time when plugged in. I've checked all the settings and there's no way to disable or turn it off.

Does anyone else experience this? I'm not sure when it started but it was more than a year ago. But since then I've no longer been able to keep it on my nightstand.

I would love if there was a fix for it.
