Xiaomi just proved you don't have to be Apple or Samsung (or any of the other smartphone OEMS) to make a beautiful device with high end specs. They officially unveiled the Xiaomi Mi 5 and it is both gorgeous and powerful. The phone will come in 3 different versions: the Standard, High Edition and Ceramic Exclusive. Each basically differ by materials used, but there are a few other subtle changes (shown below).

Here's a breakdown of internal specs:
    • Android 6 Marshmallow
    • Dimensions - 144,5 x 69.2 x 7.25mm, 129g weight
    • 5.15" Full HD (1080 x 1920)
    • SoC Snapdragon 820
    • 1.8GHz / 3GB RAM (Standard edition)
    • 2.15GHz / 3GB RAM (High edition)
    • 2.15GHz / 4GB RAM (Ceramic exclusive)
    • Cameras 16MP rear cam, 4-axis OIS, 4K video, Sony IMX 298 sensor
    • 4MP front cam with 2.0-micron camera
    • Storage 32 GB (standard) / 64 GB (high) / 128 GB (ceramic exclusive)
    • Battery 3000 mAh
    • USB Type-C
Here are the Chinese prices for the new flagship:
    • Standard version = 1999 yuan (~$306)
    • High Edition = 2,299 yuan (~$352)
    • Ceramic Exclusive = 2699 yuan (~$413)
Right now the device is only slated to show-up in China with a release date of March 1st, while pre-orders in China are open now. No details of a European or United States launch have been shared as of yet. We will update you folks if/when that changes.

If you bought one from China, does it have the radio to work in the US?

Is it really Ceramic, or just the name?
From the back it looks like my Turbo (side edges).

    It has the following bands:
    2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
    3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz
    4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz (B1/B3/B7)
No go on Verizon, other carriers might work.
