    Hey Folks,
So I really do apologize about posting this if it has already been answered somewhere. I'm just kinda wiggin out LOL. So I've been running the cyanogen mod for a while now and loved it. Went back to stock in hopes of the "official" 2.1 update today and used DroidMod Update to do so. My problem is that while trying to boot into recovery mode while holding X down my phone just keeps on rebooting the moment the white moto logo comes up. If I let go of the x then the logo stays lit but never goes beyond that point.

I work for support for a software company so I tried to explain my problem the best I can. :)

    Thanks everyone!

So now your phone will not boot at all, or just does this when you try to get into recovery?

    1) Turn the phone off
    2) Hold the X key
    3) Turn the phone back on while doing step 2

I havent heard yet of anyone jacking up recovery...

EDIT: Clockwork Recovery has had a lot of problems recently, especially when it's used in conjuction with SPRecovery. I assumed that your DroidMod had gotten you back to SPRecovery, stupid assumptions...

Hey guys thanks for the quick responce. I work in software support so I really do appreciate it.

The phone will not boot at all. Stays stuck at the logo.
If I do try and boot into recovery (holding X) then the phone just continually reboots.

I've been seeing some weird issues going back and forth with the cyanogen ROM. I'm not going to knock anyone but lately the odd ball weirdness has gone threw the roof dealing with this.

I think there is a way to fix this through the boot loader. But not 100% sure on that. I will look around and see what I see. Just don't panic.

An easier way is to just plug your phone into your computers USB port, and use ADB to boot into recovery using:

    adb shell reboot recovery

Should reboot right into recovery mode.

I'll poke around too, if we cant get him straightened out, then he can always do an SBF restore.

This may or may not work. Its worth a try, but first JasenM try powering off, open keyboard press and hold up on d-pad while powering on. This gets you to the boot loader and if it works we have our last resort option. Keep us posted.

Ok cool. This means if nothing else works you can push the sbf file over using rsdlite. Do you know if your pc will recognize your droid when plugged in?

Well doing a quick look around, and considering this is known to work this is probably our best bet. Good news is your droid will live.

I'm on a mac though... is there a way to do this through terminal? My device is connected through USB but it's not showing up on my desktop.

Again...you guys rock and thanks for the help! Please keep it coming.

I just dont want us jumping to the nuclear option if there's another fix out there, especially since I'm not up on all of the specific fixes.

I hate to say I'm stumped, but I really see no option other than the sbf. Kwmayo and I aren't familiar with the process, but if you click on the link he posted back a bit, pm the OP and see if he can offer more assistance. I don't want to give bad advice, and am clueless on macs. You phone is salvagable, but gonna have to get some bigger guns on this one.

Yeah, I've only read through the SBF stuff, and never done it myself. Mac is outside my comfort zone too.... People have had luck doing this with a Windows virtual machine running inside OSX

Just like jstafford said, PM the OP of the SFB sticky, I bet he'll be able to help you out. You may need to find yourself a friend with a Windows machine...
