I would have to say average data and text. Turn screen off when not in use. But (ahem) i use it to make phone calls and am on hold a lot. Even days i don't use the phone i may get a little more. Maybe 9hrs. Doesnt matter which kernel or rom i use.

Yes, I wiped everything. The phone was fully charged before the flash as well.

I use setCPU, and my battery life has been quite good, but I'm skeptical. I'm using the stock kernel, and have tailored the memory manager's limits down quite a bit to keep it from killing stuff so frequently. Not sure if that has anything to do with this or not.

Perhaps for you, but not in general. The governor choice and min/max setting that UD sets up is fine, but if you want profiles, UD doesn't provide that.

I'm having really good luck with the stock kernel so am reluctant to change, but I've always liked slayher's stuff. Got a link to the latest?

you see those two spikes in charge level with accompanying green line, your phone was on the charger

    no charge looks like this

If you click the charge level graph you get this, it gives line break details (time spent doing things).

Trust me, there is no denying gingerbread has brought improved battery life.

I got 11 hours total time, 6 hours of screen on | device in hand use on Droid @ 900mhz since the 2.3.3 merge.

That's not entirely true. If you shut down the phone and boot it back up and it has a higher battery percentage then when you shut it down, you will see those spikes. Happens on my D1 all the time. I use it a lot, battery life gets to say 40%, I turn it off for 10 minutes and boot it back up and it goes to 70%.

Nope. Phone was never on charger. Batt life is just that good.

Here's today's. Over 13 hours with 70% remaining. Still not a smooth line.

I'm with you. I also don't use profiles, just min and max settings are fine and I also don't really see why profiles are that necessary...

They're not *necessary*, nor did anyone say they were. But, strawman aside...

I run my phone in a dock on the windshield a lot so it gets hot. Having the temperature profile is useful there.

The screen on my phone is off more often than it is on. There is no need to let the CPU max when it's off. The screen-off profile is useful there.

Occasionally I have the phone off-charger for a long time. Having the "battery < 50%" profile to keep the CPU down to low-but-usable speeds is useful there.

I have the phone in the desk-dock charging a lot at work where there's constant air-conditioning on it, and I don't care about battery use; I want speed. Having the charging profile is useful there to keep the CPU maxxed and interactive governor.

I totally agree with the above statement about the screen-off profile. Why have the CPU run at max when it isn't needed? I also have profiles set for charging and when the battery reaches certain levels. Each of these things helps with battery life. When my phone finally died yesterday I was at 34 hours (using the stock kernel and the same battery that came with my phone when I bought it in January 2010). To each his own I guess.

I agree with you, however what I noticed is that when your phone display is off and nothing CPU intensive is running in the background, with the min/max set your phone is going to hover around the very lowest speed anyways. I did notice that if I set the screen off profile to 125-250, there is a huge lag when I get a call before it shows up on my screen.
