I am currently rooted and running bb v1.0 @ 1 ghz and recently installed the ADW launcher. I like the launcher, but want to switch back to the default launcher. When I installed the ADW launcher, I did not realize that it was going to replace my default launcher, so I did not do a back up (I know, bad decision). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You can go into settings, apps, manage apps - then look for that launcher you are using (might have to hit menu, filter all) then click on your launcher "ADW" and there should be somehting that says "remove defaults" or somehting, hit that. Now when you hit your home button it should ask you what launcher you want to use and you can click your old one (check always use this).

Thanks for the quick response, but the adw launcher replaced the default launcher. It is now the only launcher on my phone. Btw, the Luna theme looks sweet. Going to give it a try as soon as it is compatible with bb.

I'm pretty sure that won't work...ADW replaces the default launcher...it is named the same.

The only way I think you can get it back is to find someone to send you the original Launcher.apk, or maybe Google it...I'm sure someone has one posted somewhere. Or install Helix and use that as your launcher...

    Good Luck

By the way, one advantage of adw replacing the Home launcher is that you can tell spare parts to attempt to keep home launcher in memory...certainly speeds up the launcher when you're running memory intensive apps like music player, etc.

ADW replaced your current launcher (/system/app/Launcher.apk). To restore the original launcher, all you need to do is copy that file back in.

You can open up the BB1.0 zip file, look for Launcher.apk and drop that file onto your SD card.

To replace it, run something like this:
    Code:
    su
    sysrw
    cp /sdcard/Launcher.apk /system/app/Launcher.apk
    chmod 644 /system/app/Launcher.apk
    sync
    sysro

I'd like a copy of the default launcher myself, just so I can try ADW. I had deleted the stock launcher after I installed helix1, and now trying to overall ADW, apparently the original is necessary for it to work. can anyone post a link to the stock 2.1 launcher?

Just do a backup before installing ADW like the above posters said. That way if you don't want it, you can just revert.

that would work, if, as I said, I hadn't deleted the stock launcher already....
