Added 1/28/10 - Updated version includes new OC kernels 950/1100

    http://www.4shared.com/file/209832741/78551e64/WirelessTetherPatcher-Overcloc.html

I am not trying to clog up with too many threads, but since these topics seem to spread amongst a few, this tries to bring it together.

Quite a few of you have already tried my wireless tether patcher:

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...ss-tether-patcher-one-click-solution-2-x.html

It has been updated to fix brightness and to allow overclocking, for those that are interested in having it all :)

If you have everything but OC, or everything but Wireless Tether, you can install this over top and not harm anything. That being said ... I do not have everyone's phone to test with nor their situations, so TAKE A BACKUP first.

If you're looking for instructions on how to 'install' this, check the link above, first post. There WILL be a ROM out possibly this weekend that will fix the brightness without needing my widget (included).

4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download WirelessTetherPatcher-v1.3.exe

hi there, i really appreciate all your work by the way. I've used both the wireless patcher and the brightness fix. Was just wondering if theres anyway to do this from terminal emulator. Also, i'm at work currently so cannot download this file from 4shared to test it. :x

edit: i've had the wireless tether working along with OC. Once i applied the brightness fix i couldn't get the tether to work. the ssid wouldn't show up when i try to search for it.

Saucy, not really, otherwise you'd end up doing all the manual steps I automated.

So you have both already, but now you just want overclock? If so, you might as well download 1.3 and just use that. It includes the brightness fix.

The brightness fix (FixBrite) couldn't possibly affect tether ... doesn't touch anything, including kernels ...

Also .. I have installed this patcher OVER an existing oc + wt + brite fix, and everything still worked ... both 2.0.1 and 2.1 ... I've also installed this on virgin 2.0.1 and 2.1 and everything worked.

I get to the splash screen which says what it is and has a warning. Then I hit Next. It extracts files. Then it goes away.

Is this what it's supposed to do?

so at this point and time there is no way to have wifi, tether, overclock, and permanent fixbrite, am i understanding that correctly?

you can however have wifi, tether, overclock and temporary fixbrite, right?

Correct ... the only difference between this and the upcoming 'permanent fix' is with this, you have a widget you'll put on your desktop. Each time you reboot the phone, you'll tap it. You're done until the next reboot.

gotcha, so this is only for the extremely impatient since there will probably be a permanent fix in a couple days at most

Do you even see a DOS window flash for a second?

Hopefully ... however, alldroid is claiming to have one that works now, but I tried it and it doesn't. Hence this, in the meantime. I like 2.1 and all the goodies, but didn't like the screen screaming at me.

I am running 2.0.1 with custom rom and just did this code from command and it worked great on my phone. Only had to run it once and it stays for every boot.
