I'm afraid I have to return my X. I thought that the big screen and HDMI out and all the other bells and whistles would keep me happy for 12-24 months, but unfortunately not.

The main reason is seeing the Droid Pro and LTE announcements over the last few days.

Secondly, the size of the X is just a little too big.

Looks like I'm holding onto my Droid for now, which isn't exactly what I want to do either, since the battery is dying in 10 hours with light use.

Oh well, having the X was fun while it lasted.

IMO waiting is the best idea...and not for the Pro, for the SuperDroid

uhh...this is why I'm saving my upgrade. My daughter is just going to have to wait for my Droid. I'll just make it look pretty for her to make up for it ;)

Spanky - I'm also holding out for the new releases with LTE rollout before I upgrade. As for battery draining, I'm sure you know we all preach to delete any task killers, virus scanners...but make sure you use JuiceDefender....it's awesome and works well.

Is your phone stock or rooted? There are some settings you can change to extend your battery life, like looking for wifi less often as an example. Other than that leave GPS off when you don't need it, use the Power Control widget to keep your screen dim unless you really need it brighter.

    Are you certain?

The screen is too big? Is there such a thing? Love my DX!

I have yet to see specs for something that has made me consider taking mine back.

SuperDroid? Well the name alone makes me drool. Glad I'm returning the X. Believe me, I have nothing against the X, it's just not for me......

I actually just rooted the droid, but haven't done much with it. I never leave the GPS or WiFi on, and the screen brightness is always at about 35%. Plus, I never use a task killer.

I'm wondering if a new battery would solve my problems. (the phone is 11 months old today!)

Spanky, how can your X be 11 months old when it was only released three months ago?

    Yeah, too big. HA.

At first I thought it was just a little too big, but after having it for two months...

I feel like everyone else's phone is too small. dancedroid

Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking?

I easily get 24 hrs of battery life. I leave for work at 6:30am, when I got home at 5:30pm yesterday I was at 90%. I use Quick Settings to control mobile data & screen brightness (also can control wifi, gps, auto sync, but so can a widget), b/c I don't get great 3G at work. WiFi on all the time at home. GPS only on when I need it. I am rooted, but only for wireless tether.

Check out Juicemane's thread on battery life. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...ife-youve-got-questions-weve-got-answers.html

    Clarification:
My original droid is 11 months old. It's battery is dying quickly throughout the day. I was just saying that I'd have to hang on to it for awhile since the X is most likely going back.

The X operates fine, it's just not for me. Don't get me wrong, the screen is great. The physical size of the phone is what I can't handle. As a result, I need a smaller phone. I may be looking into the Droid 2 or Incredible.

There's always going to be the "next best thing" right around the corner. Personally I can see myself being satisfied with the X for the next 12 months. I'll do an early upgrade if something catches my eye after a year. Verizon is always sending me notices about early upgrade eligibility.

I can't see waiting for LTE though. I don't live in a major market and even if they roll out aggressively, it would be late next year at best that I'd see it. I needed to get rid of the Storm and the X is a great fit.
