Incorrect kernel on an X? I've never heard that, but an x-pert has. He says usually a reboot will fix that issue. If not, it might be a botched root. How did you root?

Okay. Try a reboot and if you still have the issue then unroot and reroot with z4. If you STILL have problems we'll try different versions of the app. :) Make sure you're giving it SU permissions.

I just did a battery pull and still no go.

Ok, I re rooted still the same. However, when it tells me unsupported kernel I click on close the app and I re open it again and it doesnt tell me that anymore. I have to open it twice though..

Ok. My laptop recognizes the connection as a "lan 2" but it wont connect to the net.

Turn it on. Otherwise you can't communicate with your phone via USB, only the SD card. If 1.2 works then you can reinstall 1.4 and see if that works. 1.4 has a few more features that you might like or find you need.
