    Hey all! I recently rooted my phone (dx) and downloaded wireless tether. It works perfectly on my laptop but I just tried to make it work with another smart phone and it wouldn't :( here's what I did;

    Turned wireless tether on on my phone. Turned on wifi on my friends vibrant, went to search wireless networks...nothing. My tether wasn't showing up on her phone at all. Is there something I need to change before trying this or is it just not compatible with other phones? Thanks for any help!

    May not be capable with that phone. I run my iPhone off of mine all the time as well as laptops but my other Droid won't pick it up no matter the channel its on.

    If you get two phones to connect to each other via Bluetooth, its mainly for file sharing (pictures, contacts, ringtones, etc)

    Ok cool. Thanks for the help! Also, do you know of any sites that share rooted apps only?

    Hey IT! Good to see you again. I think the issue here is an ad hoc connection which the rooted phone can not handle. Never tried blue tooth.

    No problem! Just search "Root" in the market and it'll pull up ALOT of apps there.

    Bluetooth from Droid to Droid works as far as I know. I sent a ringtone, song, and picture from my rooted D1 to my unrooted D1 and it worked great! :dancedroid:
