Wired USB camera through Droid2?

Hey guys, I have an inspection camera, basically a video camera on a flexible stick, that runs off my laptop. Its a bit difficult crawling under the car with the laptop so I got the bright idea that it could somehow work with my phone. I got an adapter to plug the USB cable into the micro-usb on the phone but it doesn't work. Its not getting power because the built in LED light doesn't work either. I did what research I could and tried an app called USB Host Controller. The app starts but says USB driver not found. Camera stays dark.

Any ideas? Phone is rooted Droid2.
