Wiping my SD card to sell phone

I'm thinking about selling my OG droid, only to upgrade to DX of course . The SD card installed was pulled from my Crapberry Storm(may be irrelevant). I'm wondering what is the best way to format it, other than mounting it... hitting ctrl+a and then delete. Also, I have a couple apk's in a backup folder on the root of the card and am wondering if I can just move those to my desktop on my PC then move them back to my DX.

You can format your SD card by going to Settings -> SD card & phone storage settings -> Format SD card.

Make sure you unmount it first.
