Yeah, this one is tough for me. I have alimited knowledge what I am doing anyway, so trying to figure out all these XML's and then make it into an update.zip is difficult.

Good news, I have it as a MM theme without the phone or keypad done.

I'm sure someone can help you out. I would if I had any idea what I was doing, haha. There are a lot of great themes on XDA for the N1... wish they were portable. I'd assume they aren't due to the resolution difference.

Yeah, that is one issue I need to correct. Everything that does work is smaller on the Droid.

OK, I got it into an update.zip format.

Still trying to figure how to port over the keyboard and phone dialer.

see this thread here. everything has been ported over from milestone except the phone.apk. It skins perfectly (the phone.apk) however there is a FC issue with it when you dial.
Everything else works. Need to change the text color in the dropdown menu.

    How difficult would it be...

I had the buuf dialer a while ago as a dxtop theme. You should be easily able to pull the images and make a metamorph out of it. I did something similar and had the whole phone buuf themed, but was annoyed at some of the lack of uniformness and low res pictures.

    buuf.zip

Here's the link to the file for the 2.0.1 metamorph theme. As I stated earlier, you can install this with metamorph if you're pre 2.1. Install each of the packages separately, just don't install the phone.apk. I was having issues with the dialer force closing when you were making a call. I might mess with it later tonight and try to change it. The only thing different with 2.0.1 and 2.1 is the framework-res.apk, I believe, so you're 90% there to having a working metamorph theme for buuf on the 2.1 rom.

Current things that need to be addressed...
framework-res.apk needs to be updated for 2.1
dialer needs to be fixed to avoid force close on dial.
Text color in drop down notification menu is white on tan colored background. Needs to be changed to darker color.

no need to rework all that has been already done. Just a couple of fixes and you're there.
here's the dialer that's included for reference.

I got the framework-res.apk working fine on my Droid. I am running a ESE53 ROM.

I have the text colored to black, but will try another color later.

The dang dialer is where I am stuck right now.

I was just starting to mess with that a few minutes ago. If we can get a working 2.1 theme, I just may flash back to 2.1...
I was running BB 2.1 v.7 yesterday with ChevyNo1 10 slot kernel (1.1) , but just nandroided back to my base DM 1.0 which is my current sweet setup. I still haven't found my favorite 2.1 setup yet.

I am using the ROM from boostdscoob at alldroid. I have had no issues with the ROM at all. Only problems that come up for me is when I start messing around with themes.

I tried that one, like a week ago, but at the time it was only a 3 screen desktop, which is a dealbreaker for me. I was running GDE to get 7 screens, but I'm not a big fan of home replacements, since you more often than not aren't able to change the icons. The best setup for me would be 2.1 base with a stock 5-7 screen home, editable icons, and a 2.1 buuf metamorph theme (with a working dialer). Might have to check it out again... it was wicked fast.
