Not feeling the tiles, but maybe once it's out and you can change how they display things will be a bit better. Not directly related to 8, but that's definitely the fastest version of Internet Exploder I've ever seen.

Could be good stuff, we shall see.

This OS is killer. I hate booting back into 7 to run my powerpoint and excel now...8 runs so damn quick.

32 bit needs 16 GB HDD space. Tried installing it in VMWare for my girl, but her CD drive is broken and windows won't install without a CD drive even though I have the .iso. Lol

I downloaded it straight from the website and it updated on it's on. I didn't have to boot it by cd.

Neither did I. I used a bootable flash drive. But windows requires a working CD drive to install. Hopefully Wozzy PMs me the work around.

I caved in...I wasn't too fond of what I'd seen so far, and now that I've put my hands on it, I'm so confused with it. I probably need to play with it more but I'm not impressed thus far.

Awesome. Thanks for still looking into this. I was pissed as hell when the install cancelled because the CD drive doesn't function. Lol.

That's all well and good, but I see no place for 8 in a professional/corporate environment. I keep coming back to the thought that unless your sole purpose of using 8 is updating your social network sites, there's not much for you here.

I think 7 is going to be the new XP in the professional world, once companies have actually migrated to 7. We'll see it sticking around for several years, probably see a couple more service packs...then MS may offer something again with a more professional feel.

I don't mean to sound harsh but I really don't feel a very professional vibe from 8.

I guess you didn't notice that you don't have to use the live tiles? There's a standard interface that you can access instead. I'm not much for the live tiles either.
