As the title states....I for one will not, I think I'll just wait until some Devs get their hands on the latest update and work their magic.

    Nope.

In fact, my side project/hobby is building a rom from source. If I can find the time to finish it.

Nah. Some folks hold it over others like they have mystical powers or such. It just takes time and a lot of patience.

Let me reiterate: A LOT of patience.

I haven't rooted yet but that's only due to my lack of confidence. As soon as I can find someone to do it that knows what they are doing I'll be on that bandwagon.

With all the talk about the update and reading what It includes I really don't know why someone that is rooted would go backwards. For one, oc'ing is a big reason but when all the different and unique roms are out there why would you want to go back to "par"?
Just wait for someone to get their hands on a true update and wait for the outcome

I decided to unroot, but only for the increased chance of scoring an update.zip for folks.

Let me think for a second.

"Hell no, we won't go! Hell no, we won't go!" (I mean let go of root.)

"They can take my root access, when they pry it out of my cold dead hands."

"Ask not, what root can do for you. Ask what you can do for root."

OK, I guess that last one doesn't really make sense. But you get my point. I love having root access.

I rooted with DM, flashed Bugless Beast, then Simply Stunning, found ROM Manager, flashed CyanogenMod, back to Simply Stunning, (to see if I could) the back to Cyanogen. I have backups for all of them.

But I'm currently playing around with Cyanogen 5.0.5.4 overclocked to 1.2 GHz, and loving it.

Probably not. I like having the option of different possibilities with my Droid.
