Wifi Tether on Simplex ROM is free?

The Simplex ROM has the wifi tether and hotspot baked into the settings menu. I was wondering, do I have to use other methods of wifi tether such as FoxFi to use the tether for free? If I use the tether that Simplex ROM has in the settings menu, will I be charged? Because when I click on it, I don't get any warning messages that I am signing up for a wifihotspot plan or anything. Thanks!
