I went from froyo to this rom and now my wifi tether app doesn't work anymore. I don't get any download rate showing on the app. I did a clean install per instructions. Anyone else know what's up?

If u are using GB then verizon knows u r tethering so they block it, not a fact but might involve a Bill later on. If u want to tether without Big Red to notice u have to revert back to Froyo

Since when? What makes you think they know if you are on GB but not froyo?

    ha ha...
I have used mine on various occasions since LGB1.0..
Seems like one market update may have made it fubar, I reverted back. I am on wireless tether 2.0.6 right now, but I am also on LGB1.7 now (actually 1.75).

2 weeks ago my cable went down for a few days I used tether all that time, that would have been 1.65.
I always run stock LGB kernals and such..

ps I think I read some where that verizon had the wireless tether root app pulled from the market, I just checked and came up with no search results, but defiantly not block the use. I haven't received any additional charges, but only use it as a back-up service when needed.

I use Wireless Tether for my B&N Nook Color running Honeycomb, and it has worked perfectly throughout the LGB lifecycle. Before updating the ROM, I back up everything with TiBu and then restore only missing apps with data. All my Wireless Tether settings, including encryption and access control, have come back intact every time.

I added tethering to my data plan through Verizon's website. While I do a lot of tethering with the Nook, my account never shows any tethered data usage. Supposedly they use deep packet inspection to identify tethered traffic, but if so they can't see mine.

Then again, when I inquired about adding tethering at a Verizon store, they said my phone was incapable of wireless tethering, and I obviously didn't understand the technology.

Wireless Tether has been blocked in the Market by Verizon and AT&T.

yeah using it full time it's gonna get you busted eventually. I use only when absolutely necessary.
Hooking to the PS3, Xbox and streaming lots of data wouldn't be good.
