    Hi,

I don't know if this is an issue with the ROM or something else causing it, but I figured I would post it here anyways since I am running BB 1.0 with the 1ghz kernel and nextheme.

I keep my wifi turned on all the time so that when there is an available network it connects or notifies me that there is an available network.

I noticed this morning while I was at home that the wifi icon was gone and the 3g icon was there...so I checked the wifi settings and it said "Turning Off...". It is just stuck on that. I can't click it to turn it on...if I go to the power control widget, the light under the wifi is halfway lit up...if I click that, it says updating wifi setting but doesn't change anything. I checked the advanced settings and the wifi sleep policy is set to never. The only thing that will make it come out of the "turning off" state is a reboot.

Anyone else experience this or know a fix?

    Thanks,
    Glenn

Might be a kernel issue. I updated kernels a while back and this same kinda thing happened to me. Went in ROM Manager and flashed a bekits kernel just to see adn it solved my issue...

Hmmm...I'm using a bekit kernel...was thinking about going to the 800 because of some heat "issues" I say it in quotes because it is not that high...anyways maybe I'll try switching to that and see what happens. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the tip. This has happened to me a couple of times where the wifi has been stuck turning off. It has always happened when my battery levels have been low, so I just assumed that BB was turning off wifi when battery was low. The reboot helped because it wasn't coming back on when I plugged the phone in to the charger.

I actually just flashed the be kit 800 kernel today and im experiencing strange wifi problems too. When i turn mine off the stock power widget half way lights up then goes out and continues this non stop.

I dint know if its a kernel problem though since I never tried to turn off wifi when I was just using the smoked glass rom.

I have this issue too, but my install of 1.0 is weird, I don't have SU and I can't mount the SD card from SPRecovery so i can't backup or restore anything, trying to fix it now. I have the kit 1000mhz kernel.

Hi I'm having this problem with my motodroid too. And I've just gotten my phone over a day ago.
How do I fix it? It goes back to normal when I switch off and on my phone, but after a few hours, the same problem occurs. I don't want to keep having to reboot my phone!

    What are kernels?
